Data Collection
Shortcuts Editor does not collect any data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.
No Network Access
Shortcuts Editor runs in Apple's App Sandbox without the network entitlement. This means the app is technically incapable of sending anything off your Mac — not by policy, but by the permissions it is built with. Everything the app does happens locally.
Data Storage
The following is stored locally on your Mac and never leaves it:
- Shortcut files you explicitly choose to open, read only while the app is running
- Project files you choose to save, in the location you pick
- An automatic backup of your current canvas, so your work survives quitting the app
- Window and view preferences
File Access
The app can only read and write files you specifically select through the standard macOS open and save panels. It has no general access to your disk, and it does not scan, index, or upload your shortcuts.
Data Deletion
Deleting a project file removes it. Moving the app to the Trash removes its automatic backup and preferences along with it.

Your shortcuts are often personal — they touch your messages, your location, your home. Shortcuts Editor is built so that none of it can reach us, because none of it can leave your Mac.
