Data Collection

Tagsmith collects nothing. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no accounts and no network code of its own, so there is no server for anything to be sent to.

Your Files

Tagsmith reads and writes the music files you choose to open, and nothing else. It is sandboxed by macOS: it can only reach files and folders you have opened or dropped onto the window. Nothing is copied anywhere, and no file or tag ever leaves your Mac.

When you save, only the metadata in a file is rewritten. The audio itself is copied across byte for byte and is never re-encoded.

Data Storage

Your settings — such as the default filename patterns — are stored on your Mac in the app’s own preferences. There is no cloud storage and no sync.

Data Sharing

We do not collect, share or sell any user data. There is nothing to share: the app makes no network requests at all.

Data Deletion

Uninstalling the app removes its preferences. Your music files are yours and are left exactly where they are, with whatever tags you last saved.

Children

The app is a file utility and is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data, it collects no data from children either.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
